Authorities unveil comprehensive map for NYE celebrations
DUBAI is preparing for a spectacular welcome to the New Year 2026, with 48 fireworks displays planned across 40 locations in the emirate.
The official location maps, revealed by Dubai Police Headquarters, provide a detailed guide for residents and visitors to enjoy the festivities safely while navigating the city.
The events will be held under the supervision of the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA), in coordination with multiple government and private entities.
Fireworks locations
Fireworks will illuminate Dubai’s most iconic landmarks and popular destinations, including Burj Khalifa, Downtown Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Festival City, Dubai Creek Harbour, Bluewaters, Burj Al Arab, Expo City Dubai, Global Village, Atlantis The Palm, and Palm Jebel Ali. Additional sites include Dubai Frame, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Madinat Jumeirah, Topgolf Dubai, and Trump International Golf Club.

Authorities emphasised that distributing displays across numerous venues helps reduce crowd density, ensuring smooth mobility and safer celebrations. Visitors are advised to follow all safety guidelines, maintain designated distances from launch areas, and avoid restricted zones.
Traffic and transport
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced staged road closures around Downtown Dubai. Key closures include:
- From 4pm: Al Istiqlal Street, Al Mustaqbal Street, Lower Financial Centre Road, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, Burj Khalifa Street
- From 8pm: Al Multaqa (Al Mulook) Street
- From 9pm: Upper Financial Centre Road
- From 11pm: Partial closure of Sheikh Zayed Road
- Full closure: Sheikh Zayed Road from 6am, 31 December to 2am, 2 January
Public transport will be boosted, with Dubai Metro running non-stop for 43 hours and extra services at major stations near celebration sites, including Emirates Towers, Financial Centre, World Trade Centre, Business Bay, and Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall.

Authorities urged residents and visitors to use public transport and follow official instructions.
Security and safety
To manage the city-wide celebrations safely, over 23,000 security personnel will be deployed, marking the most comprehensive New Year’s Eve operation in Dubai’s history. This includes 9,884 Dubai Police officers, 13,502 private security personnel, 1,625 patrol vehicles, 36 bicycle patrols, 34 mounted units, and 53 marine rescue boats.
Medical readiness will be extensive, with 236 ambulances, 635 paramedics, and 1,900 medical staff on high alert. Twelve hospitals and several outdoor clinics will be prepared to handle any emergencies. The Civil Defence will deploy 1,754 personnel and 165 vehicles to respond to incidents, ensuring seamless public safety across the emirate.
The integrated plan reflects Dubai’s status as a global destination for New Year celebrations, combining fireworks, crowd management, transportation, and emergency services to deliver a safe, memorable night for millions of residents and tourists.
